Trice shared his career journey from the U of A to his current role as director of account management at Tunnl in New York. He also provided valuable guidance on navigating a career in the rapidly changing world of data in public relations and advertising.

“Most advertising and public relations students don’t consider a career in data, but it plays a major role in advertising and public relations today, and those who are skilled at storytelling have a real advantage in the field of data and analytics. I’m excited to expose students to this field of work,” Trice said.

The lectures offered students an opportunity to learn first hand about industry trends, strategic communication, and real-world applications of their classroom studies.

“We are honored to welcome Davis back to campus and grateful for his willingness to invest in our students’ futures,” said Gina Shelton, who taught Davis in Government and Media. “Experiences like these broaden our students’ view on career opportunities and inspire them to dream big.”

Trice interned on Capitol Hill when he was an undergraduate and moved to Washington immediately after his 2017 graduation.

Sponsored by the Center for Media Ethics and Literacy, his visit included presentations to over 300 students across classes like Account Planning, Advertising Principles, Public Relations Principles, and Media and Society.

In some of the classes, he was joined by Zoom by another former Razorback who works in public relations, Jake Kyte. Kyte is an account supervisor with The Monument Group, a public affairs team based in Austin, Texas handling statewide public affairs, crisis management and strategic corporate communications.
